Block and retaining walls
A block wall is only as good as the footing under it. We dig and pour the footing to the plan, set the steel, lay the block plumb and level, and grout the cells solid where the engineering calls for it. Retaining walls get drainage behind them so water has somewhere to go besides through the wall.
We tie new walls into existing ones cleanly, cap them, and leave the site clean. If you want a finish beyond gray block, we can stucco, cap or split-face the wall to match the house.

Do I need a permit for a block wall?
Most cities require a permit for walls over a certain height, usually around three to four feet, and for any retaining wall. We tell you on the walk-through and handle the plan if one is needed.
Can you match my existing wall?
Yes. Block size, cap and finish are matched to what is there so the new section does not read as an add-on.
Why do retaining walls fail?
Almost always water. Without drainage behind the wall, wet soil pushes it over. Every retaining wall we build gets gravel and a drain behind it.
How long does a wall take?
A typical residential wall is three to five days: footing one day, cure, then block and grout.
